Tribute

Carole Joan Cannon (nee Moore)

March 19, 1937 – September 26, 2020

Carole passed away in the wee hours of September 26 at Peace Arch Hospital.   We will forever admire the dignity and determination she faced her Parkinson’s with, making the most of every day.

Carole was born to Clifford and Winnifred Moore (nee David) at Saint Mary’s Hospital in New Westminster.  Predeceased by her sister Colleen Fleming, survived by brother Alan (Denise) Moore and sister Wendy (Ed) Probyn.

Devoted wife to Donald, loving mother to Jeff (Carmel) Kjersem, Jan (Ron) Graham, Betsy (Bill) Stringfellow and Tom Cannon.  Treasured by her grandchildren and great granddaughters.  Cherished auntie and friend.

In addition to her family, Carole had many passions during her lifetime.  She loved to roller skate when she was young.  A self taught seamstress – endless hours were spent sewing, crafting and building things.  Holidays of every kind were cause for celebration especially if they involved Easter bonnets, Halloween costumes or anything Christmas.  A consummate hostess Carole loved to entertain and throw lavish dinner parties at their homes in New Westminster, Semiahmoo Golf  & Country Club and White Rock.  In later years she enjoyed tap dancing with her troupe “The Dancing Grannies”.

Due to the pandemic restrictions there will be no formal service. Mom wished for a cocktail party with chardonnay, appies and Sinatra – we ask in lieu of flowers please light a candle and honour her last request.  Rest peacefully mommy – you earned it.

My first memory is a birthday party in your back yard. Lots of decorations, games and such delicious birthday cake. Fast forward, such an exquisitely decorated home, each room with its own personality. Fabulous finger food, and such a unique and original Christmas tree. That big warm smile and voice that carried like a melody from a classic song and then of course those sparkling eyes that I see so vividly passed down through the generations. Baby showers with a little extra zest, perfectly steeped tea with pastries that gently requested that you try them all.
RIP Auntie💗My mama will have the kettle on.
