John Arthur Hopton, born in Bristol England June 2, 1934. John served in both the British Army and the British Merchant Navy. He moved to Canada in 1956, where he married his life long partner Joan in 1959 (60yrs). John was a caring, loving, son, brother, husband, father, grand father and great grand father to; Steven (Fun), Michael, and Launa (Robert). Grand children; Bryce (Krystal), Cody (Laura), Savannah, Grant, Liam. Great grand children; Emily, Brayden, Damian and Asher. He was an avid swimmer competing in many BC Games throughout his retirement years. John battled with cancer for many years. Sadly John succumbed to pulmonary fibrosis at Mission Memorial Hospital on November 18, 2019.
